5 Corners Kitchen: A North Shore Restaurant Photography Session with Chef Barry Edelman

I recently had the pleasure of heading up to the North Shore for a restaurant photography assignment with Chef Barry Edelman, owner of 5 Corners Kitchen and food stylist Catrine Kelty in Marblehead, MA. The shoot, commissioned by Northshore Magazine, was an opportunity to capture both the personality of the chef and the spirit of his new restaurant.

Since the restaurant was still under construction, Chef Edelman graciously welcomed me into his beautiful home for the session. We made the most of the sunny patio, talking about food, the restaurant business, and life on the North Shore. The relaxed setting gave us the perfect backdrop for natural, engaging chef portraits.

Of course, no food photography session is complete without tasting. Chef prepared an incredible mackerel dish, but the real standout was his rich, smoky romesco sauce - a signature recipe that takes the dish to another level.

As a Boston restaurant and cookbook photographer, I love capturing the artistry and passion that chefs bring to their work. Whether it’s in a professional kitchen, on location, or at a private home, the goal is always the same: to create images that tell the story of food, people, and place.
