It’s #cincodemayo, which is the perfect excuse to head to a local spot like @lolitateqbars, order tacos and margaritas (my personal favorites), and let the Sunday scaries melt away.

Back in 2014, @edibleboston put out its first-ever special edition Drink Issue, which provided me with a happy excuse to travel around the Boston area, photograph unique cocktails (and the creative faces behind them), and even do some sampling.⁠ ⁠ You can read the throwback article via the link in my bio.

Melinda Brandt owns @bellwethersalon, a one-chair hair boutique at the @charlesriverspeedway in Allston. That hub of shops, restaurants, and other small businesses is a welcomed change to Brandt. As she explained to @edibleboston, it’s exciting “to be independent in a community of other artists and vendors, and in a neighborhood I have lots of history with.”

A couple years back, I got to highlight beloved cookbook writer @davidleite for @yankeemagazine, where he spoke about his Portuguese upbringing and how it influences his inspiration in the kitchen. You can read the full story (and grab these recipes) via the link in my bio.
